Shahjahanpur district is a district of Uttar Pradesh state and situated at South East of Rohilkhand Division. The headquarters is at Shahjahanpur. It is also known as Shaheedon ki nagari District of India. The District is located in Bareilly Commissionaire and is bounded by six districts. On the north by the Pilibhit District and on the south by the Hardoie & Farrukhabad, on the east Lakhimpur district and on the west Bareilly & Badaun District. Geographical Area of it is 4575 Sq. Km.
This is a agriculture based district of Uttar Pradesh. Ram Ganga, Garrah & Gomti are the main rivers  of district. Kathana, Jhukma & Mensiare are the attached rivers of Gomti. Garrah is the main river. Khannaut, Suketa and Kai are the attached rivers of Garrah. Major crops of the districts are Wheat, Gram, Millet & Potato.

According to the 2011 census Shahjahanpur district had a population of 30,06,538 of which male and female were 16,06,403 and 14,00,135 respectively. Total Population of the District are Consisting of rural population of 24,12,446 (80.24%) & urban population of 5,94,092 (19.76%). The district has a population density of 685 per Sq. Km. The average Literacy rate of Shahjahanpur in 2011 were 59.54%. Sex ratio in Shahjahanpur it stood at 872 per 1000 male.^[update]
