 Marriage grant scheme

(State share 100 percent)

Under this scheme, a lump sum amount of Rs 20,000/- is given to the daughters of deceased persons belonging to backward class (except minority backward class).

Eligibility conditions –

The age of the girl should be 18 years and the age of the groom should be 21 years. Under this scheme, the annual income of the applicant should be Rs 46080/- in rural areas and Rs 56460/- in urban areas. The entire process for marriage grant scheme will be completed only through the website www.shadianudan.upsdc.gov.in. Application forms filled through any other means will not be accepted.

Objective: The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance in the marriage of daughters of poor families.

How to fill the form for marriage?

Application for marriage grant scheme can be made 90 days before or 90 days after the marriage of the girl. If the applicant is from a particular caste category (OBC/SC/ST) then he/she should also have caste certificate. People belonging to any other category are not required to give caste certificate.

How much marriage grant is available in Uttar Pradesh?

Vivah Anudan Yojana: Under the Marriage Grant Scheme run by the Backward Class Welfare Department, a grant of Rs 20,000 is given for the marriage of daughters of Other Backward Class (except minority class), destitute, poor and families living below the poverty line.

To see the list of marriage grant, you will have to open the government website shadianudan.upsdc.gov.in, after this select the option of application form status, then the login form will open in which fill the asked information and select the login option, after that the form. will open

Has marriage grant been stopped?

Now people in Uttar Pradesh will not get the benefit of Individual Marriage Grant Scheme. Last year, after the case of large-scale fraud in this scheme came to light in Kanpur, it was being considered to close it. The last application under this scheme was made on 26 August in the financial year 2022-23. Under the Individual Marriage Grant Scheme, daughters of poor families will no longer get a grant of Rs 20,000. There is a plan to discontinue this scheme in a phased manner. Under this, it has been decided to remove the scheme from the portal of Social Welfare Department. Yogi government is promoting mass marriage scheme instead. Under this scheme, Rs 51 thousand is given to the married couple.
