1) Researchers at IIT Delhi and IIT Gandhinagar have created the District Flood Severity Index (DFSI), which measures flood impact in a district based on factors such as the average duration of flood events, the proportion of historically flood-affected areas, total fatalities, number of injuries, and the district’s population.
